Just place the Kühle in cold water. Sewn inside are dozens of polymer granules that turn into gel as they soak up water. After a few minutes, the Kuhle compartments will puff up like little pillows of cold gel. Then put it on. As the moisture in the gel evaporates, you get a cooling sensation. It's the same sensation you get when you're wet and standing in a breeze. You can occasionally turn the Kuhle over to freshen the sensation. It will last for hours with one soak but works better when occasionally re-soaked. Ice water is best. Try keeping a few in the refrigerator and grab one when you need it.

When the water fully evaporates, the Kuhle gel will turn granular again. Then you can store it for use over and over.
